Featured Cocktails:

Whiskey Smash Cocktail

Whiskey Smash

Originally, the Smash family of cocktails was only a step away from the Julep family, with the main difference being the addition of garnishes. Modern versions of the Smash have evolved significantly and often contain citrus in the form of muddled lemon or lemon juice and herbs such as mint or basil. Today, a Smash is more reminiscent of a Whiskey Sour than a Julep.

  • 3-4 mint leaves

  • 0.5 lemon, cut into quarters

  • 2 oz (60 ml) bourbon whiskey

  • 0.75 oz (22.5 ml) simply syrup

Jungle Bird Cocktail

Jungle Bird

The Jungle Bird saw a resurgence in popularity when Giuseppe Gonzalez adapted and revived the drink whilst working at Painkiller in New York in the mid-2000s. His recipe reduced the amount of pineapple juice and specified blackstrap rum as the rum of choice. The drink was originally served in a porcelain bird-shaped vessel but is now commonly served in an old-fashioned glass.

  • 1.5 oz (45 ml) dark Jamaican rum or blackstrap rum

  • 0.75 oz (22.5 ml) Campari

  • 1.5 oz (45 ml) pineapple juice

  • 0.5 oz (15 ml) lime juice

  • 0.5 oz (15 ml) simple syrup

Brancolada Cocktail

Artichoke Hold

The Artichoke Hold was created by Jeremy Oertel from the Brooklyn cocktail bar Donna. It's a classic riff on one of his other creations, the Bitter Mai Tai, which in turn is a riff on a classic Mai Tai. The funkiness of the Smith & Cross rum creates the base whilst the Cynar and elderflower liqueur add an interesting bittersweet combination of flavours.

  • 0.75 oz (22.5 ml) aged Jamaican rum (Smith & Cross)

  • 0.75 oz (22.5 ml) Cynar

  • 0.5 oz (15 ml) St-Germain elderflower liqueur

  • 0.75 oz (22.5 ml) lime juice

  • 0.5 oz (15 ml) orgeat)

East 8 Hold Up Cocktail

East 8 Hold Up

The East 8 Hold Up was created by Kevin Armstrong, a bartender at London's Milk & Honey, in 2010. Kevin and a friend were returning home one evening through the E8 area of London, when his friend was mugged with his pants down. They nicknamed the mugging the East 8 Hold Up, which later gave inspiration to the drink.

  • 1.5 oz (45 ml) vodka

  • 0.5 oz (15 ml) Aperol

  • 0.75 oz (22.5 ml) pineapple juice

  • 0.5 oz (15 ml) lime juice

  • 0.5 oz (15 ml) simple syrup

  • 1 tsp (5 ml) passion fruit syrup
